About the event
In this lunchtime concert held in Room 34 at the National Gallery where paintings by Thomas Gainsborough are exhibited, London Obbligato Collective will play Harpsichord Trios by Johann Christian Bach (1735-1782) and Carl Friedrich Abel (1723-1787), both of whom had their portraits painted by Gainsborough. They will also play pieces that have musical depictions of nature much in the same way Gainsborough portrayed nature in his paintings, and some festive tunes from the 18th century.
